Project Quad is the result of my Master's research, in which I explored modern implementations of traditional pixel art.

I settled on a 3D approach with an orthographic projection. It's set up to look pixel perfect from above while also having depth information, which can be used by shaders.

Custom shaders are used for procedural effects, such as the water, as well as custom lighting that fits the pixel art aesthetic.

The demo scene was put together using a custom level editor, which allowed me to select specific prefabs and place them on a grid.
